Our Story

Cinnamon’s Restaurant was first birthed in March of 1985 by founders Puna Nam, Cricket Nam [R.I.P.], and chef/partner Carsie Green. Their mission was to ultimately nourish their community---with great food, at reasonable prices, served with genuine Aloha. With hard work, lots of sacrifice, a commitment to excellence, and a commitment to Hawai’i; we’ve been fortunate to keep doing what we do for the last 39 years.

It’s been a long road, with much learned [and to be shared soon], but with our recent renovations and improvements, Cinnamon’s Kailua is ready & excited for another 40 years! With things like Macadamia-nut crusted Mahi Mahi Eggs Benedict with Lomi Tomato, Warm Ginger Chicken Loco Mocos,  and Liliko’i Chiffon Pancakes, we innovate local favorites while offering all the ‘island classics’ [housemade Corned Beef Hash, Banana Pancakes, Hawaiian Plates, etc.] in a place that feels like Tutu’s hale.

We love what we do, we love who we do it with, and we love who we do it for. We are blessed, we are thankful, and we know it. Mahalo-mahalo-mahalo!

We’d also like to take this time to thank everyone that has been supportive and positive in this continuing journey; from staff and guests, to vendors and inspectors. Without all of your hard-work and positive contributions, Cinnamon’s wouldn’t be what it is today. And what it is…is a pretty special place.

A pretty special place that we now invite you and your ‘ohana to come experience, enjoy, and ho’i [return]…again and again.
A hui hou a malama pono,

-your Cinnamon’s ‘Ohana
